It was a lovely surprise to wake up to a sunny morning. After breakfast we set off for our second visit to Corfe via the chain ferry.
We once again visited the bakery and Graeme had a very enjoyable visit to the model village and gardens which he felt was a bargain at £5. After a quick hot chocolate overlooking Corfe Castle, we then set off for Weymouth. As soon as we had parked the car the heavens opened so we quickly got back in the car until it cleared. We then had a walk by the side of Weymouth Harbour and then on the sandy beach.
After lunch we made our way to Chesil Beach and then to Portland Bill which was so bracing!! Offshore you could see the Portland Race. On the way back we stopped at the viewing point for Chesil Beach where there were also Olympic rings, a reminder that some of the sailing events took place here in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
On the way home we called in at Milton Abbas, one of our favourite places with its thatched houses and white-painted facades. It was a shame that the look of the main street was blighted by a host of parked cars.
